Stichting Cito (Cito) is the leading educational assessment organization in the Netherlands. In collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Education, they deliver nationwide standardized assessments to support learning outcomes and policy decisions.
Cito introduced the accessible, fully digital ‘DOE’ assessment that was commissioned by the government. The DOE is an additional assessment moment to determine what secondary education suits best for group 8 students.
To support the launch of the DOE assessment, Cito needed a modern digital assessment player built specifically for younger students. Key needs included:
Additionally, the player had to integrate within Cito’s existing testing platform and meet strict accessibility requirements.
The Assessible Player is integrated directly into Cito’s testing platform, powering secure delivery of the full DOE assessment.
Students in Group 8 access the assessment via a simplified, secure browser session. The player is built with the intention of giving every student an equal chance to succeed through extra features such as text-to-speech, magnification, high contrast mode, and calculator tools.
